In this chapter, they discuss the issue of people not wanting to marry anymore and how the loss of defined gender roles has contributed to this. They argue that when there were clearly defined roles, people could respect and value each other for fulfilling their roles. However, as those roles have become less defined, people no longer see the value in getting married.
