Partisan polarization makes it difficult to develop best practices, global best practices when it comes to the next pandemic. Given the realities of globalization, it probably won't be another 100 years before we experience another pandemic. There's been a lot of conspiracy thinking surrounding COVID around origins and vaccines. It becomes really easy for people to pull this in whichever partisan direction they would like.
