The Primary Colours of the Retina

We have three types of cones in the retina. A one is sensitive to short wave lengths light. Sometimes people call them blue cones. And they all have different kinds of obsins in their photorceptors. An opsin is the protein part of the photo pigment molecule. So when a photon of light is absorbed, that basic triggers a switch in the molecule. Light energy is then transformed into a different kind of energy which is electrical signals that are passed on to the brain.
