Is There a Difference Between Current and Non Current?

Our goal here is not to overstate the current ratio so let's see if we can think of any hidden current liabilities. Since derivatives are carried on the balance sheet of fair value at bret mentioned, at each reporting period, the fair value related to cash flows occurring within one year are classified as current and non-current. I would overstate a current ratio if i don't include a current liability on the liability side. So i couldn't report that all is non current. The entirety of that asset is non current if it has a current liability in it.
