The Sundown of Oil and Gas

The shift from oil toward natural gas as an energy source creates a big long term shuffle of the geopolitical chessboard. OPEC has always argued that these countries need some special attention or some some assistance to deal with world in which oil might be less important. The other possibility is that as the world bifurcates, as countries that can afford to and countries that choose to go increasingly renewable, it is quite possible that a large number of countries will continue to use fossil fuel resources.
