Bain: I still remember meeting Mick in the summer of 2040, just had a prototype. He didn't have any customers. And I asked him, who would be your ideal customer? He said, it would be Staples. It turned out bank capital through our private equity business. At one point, he was a large investor in Staples. Bain: Through that network, I was able to get Mick in front of the executive who ran all the North American fulfillment for Staples. That executive met with Mick and Bain's introduction and called me the next day saying, you have to invest.
