Are You Weeping?
In verse three, in every province, whithersoever, the king's commandment and his decree came. There was great mourning among the jews, again, obviously, and fasting and wee ping and wailing. And many lay in sackcloth and ashes. But what about fasting? Fasting is a sign of worship, that fasting goes hand in hand with prayer. I told you god would be present in this book, even though his name isn't mentioned. Who are they weeping to? Who are they crying out for? For whose sake are they fasting for their own?
