The Progression of the Universe
Our galaxy formed maybe 12 billion years ago but our own star system only formed about four and a half billion years ago it's not a first generation star. next generations of stars what that means is that over time these galaxies that are full of these stars coming and going are maturing. We can measure their sizes as they merge together and grow into bigger galaxies. Their compositions get more complicated over time as their stars come and go creating eventually what we need for planets and life to form.
