The Misfire Theory of Altruism
Many people are moral vegetarians because they hear depictions or see movies of suffering animals and it's like a suffering child. And I think those cases are well explained that way. But there is another kind of case, the kind of person who sort of comes to it through principle and says like, well I want to be an effective altruist.I'm not rejecting of the misfiring. I enjoy that I'm moved by other people.
