The Burmese King Narathya Pate and the Taruk Ambassadors
Mongol ambassadors arrived in Bhagawan, from the court of Kooplai Khan in Beijing. They asked to see the Burmese king Narathya Pate and demanded that he submit to being a vassal of the Mongols. This ogre-like king refused so Kublai Khan sent his armies into contested borderlands between Burma and Bhagawan. In response, the king of Bhagawan refused to back down and sent his own armies to recapture the region backed by war elephants.
