When you're writing a book in China, do you think to yourself that this is not going to get published? You can't say anything negative about China sometimes when you're writing. I recently went out and did a film documentary with Xinhua News. And I interviewed an old Tibetan who said his life was terrible but now he can eat whatever he wants because of the party. That scene was cut from the Xinhua Newsroom. Why? Because they said in the 1990s, he was saying Tibet was poor.
