He started off as a German soldier in the army of the Holy Roman Empire, which was like this bunch of territories in Europe that were banded together under that name. And so he kind of, I guess you could say kind of switch size, but he rose, rose up through the ranks because his military career started at the age of 13 when he fought at the battle of Malpique. He finished his career as the Marshal General of France.
