Is It Asylum?

If we make migration out of a central america easier, is your sense that crime gets worse for those who stay behind? Or is there no influence? If we make things worse by accepting large numbers of people, that will not the appropriate policy response. I don't have a strong intuition on that. But we mean, what we know in some of the migration literatures there are significant fixed costs to migration. A lot of that is most easily borne by high income types. And that makes the country worse off in the long run.
