The Evolution of Intelligence

There's nothing we know about machines that suggests they should be able to engineer progeny that is smarter than the creator. I think maybe part of it is the tendency to sort of reduce intelligence to things like RAM, you know, how much computing power does it have? Yeah. That's a misunderstanding of what intelligence is. Our brains are just incredibly complex and powerful computers. But they also aren't just RAM. And this is actually one of the things that Lee points out. He says that whatever intelligence in a machine is, it's different from intelligence in a human being. The experience of being alive in a machine would be different from that of a human.
