The Life and Times of Ibn Vittuta
Ibn Vittuta set sail from Killaw for Arabia in April 1329 or 1331. Dofar was an important city on the trade route going from Asia to the Red Sea. It was also famed for its fine horses and exporter of frankincense, an aromatic resin used as incense. Ibn Vittuta's story gets a little weird because he goes to some locations on multiple occasions - it appears that he jumbles up these visits at times.
