Why Delhi Was Chosen as the Capital of India

Delhi was chosen as the capital of India because it has a very bad history. Indonesia is less than 200 kilometers from India, yet nobody in India thinks of Indonesia as a neighbor. Sri Lanka doesn't currently have a land connection with India but we consider it to be our maritime neighbor. Thailand and Malaysia are also not considered neighbors by many Indians.
