The Importance of Ankle Mobility in Jiu-Jitsu
We don't need great ankles in JT. We typically, we are not using our ankles the way that most sports and athletic pursuits use them. Having stiff ankles is good because you've got springs to be poppy but when you actually have to bend those ankles in all kinds of different ways, they tend to snap. And there's nothing like having a really inexperienced strong person grab your ankle and just guillotine it into the next life. You know who often people I find that have really good on the feet in jiu-jitsu is people that have played soccer.
