The Influence of Big Tech on Language
I think about every day how much control is really exerted by big tech in general. So I'm going back and getting encyclopedic Britannica is from 1955, 65, 75, 85, 95. And also as an academic from an academic sense, being able to look, okay, what did this word mean in 1955,65, 75, versus today? When I put something in in the Google search bar, what pops up versus what would pop up in 1965 when I'm looking at this encyclopedia here looking at the exact same thing. For me, it's a very interesting study, just cultural study in how things are evolving and how much control has been exerted by big tech
