Yen: I didn't invent the idea of self compassion, i actually learned about it from my buddhist practice. Sometimes we need to be tender and nurturing and accept in but sometimes we may need to be quite fierce. This is not only compassion for others, but also self compassion. Although we can accept ourselves unconditionally, we don't want to accept all our behaviors unconditionally.
