The Importance of Resilience in the Face of Climate Change

I wonder given that we have all of these tools and we have some time to prepare which many people just are not granted what do you think may happen when social structures that uphold our current let's say social behaviors suddenly change. What happens to us as individuals and as societies when we've got a bit of a heads up but these things are coming our way does it sort of have to go the way of your grandparents who suddenly didn't have the opportunities and it was about survival or is there another way to kind of thrive in these difficult times?
