Introduction

The family is this powerful intergenerational mechanism for concentrating wealth. Right now, greater and greater swaths of so-called developed economies are taken up by caring industries. Many people just aren't getting the care that they need. With aging populations and climate change ramping up, that's not looking like it will resolve itself anytime soon. Maybe it's time to take a look at the care crisis unfurling around us and ask how we can organise care differently.
