Is There a Difference Between Thiamine and Alcohol Use Disorders?

Up to 80% of people with alcohol use disorders have thiamine deficiency when they present. The first case was a woman who she tried to kill herself by ingesting some caustic material it didn't actually work but she ended up developing a paleric stenosis and she developed Wernicke's about three or four weeks right after that. Since that time it's also been reproduced that it only takes a few weeks just like you said to then deplete your thiamine levels. We need to be taking thiamine all the time.
