Is Sub Stack a Good Way to Build a Media Brand?

Sub stack is a new way to build content sites. You pay, you can have a free list, but then you can also pay a subscription fee to access someone's writing basically. I think of that as a great model for an individual who wants to make money off of their writing and thinks they can do that. There are some media companies that use sub stack, but I think it's a less optimal route if you are more than an individual creator.
