The Role of Common Fate in Intergroup Discrimination
In the early 1970s, Tashfeld at all conducted a series of experiments on MGP studies that would end up having an enormous impact on the field of social psychology. Brown stresses that there is also a pre-Tashfeld origin in the work of Dutch social psychologist, Yap Robbie, in 1964. Robby suspected that common fate was the essential component for a group to hold together and for intergroup discrimination to occur.
