The Debt Limit: A Crisis Level Game

Historically, there've always been conflicts around the debt limit. But 2011 was really when it became a crisis where you had one side say, well, if you don't give us what we want, we might not actually agree to raise the debtlimit. We came closer to default in 2011 than we ever have in history with one sort of small technical exception in the 70s. The debt limit has taken on a different, more serious threat than it was for most of its history.
