The Symbolic Reading of Moses and the Burning Bush

Sam Hennany: Is there any significance or symbolism in the fact that God speaks out of a burning bush? And another question, why does the Lord tell Moses to take off his shoes? Well, with regard to the burning bush, I think throughout scripture, we see fire as a manifestation of the presence of God. Some commentators will suggest that what's happening here with the fire in the bushes, maybe it's symbolic of the bushes Israel and the fire is God's presence in the midst of them.
