Innovation Is Not Enough, Isn't It?

We've already grabbed the low hanging fruit when it comes to innovation. Now any time we're going to innovate, it requires a lot more resources. This is where the diminishing returns on technological advancement come back into play. Unfortunately, solving our problems in a catabalic collapse situation just ends up creating more. We'll continue to fall until we land somewhere below the carrying capacity of earth without fossil fuels. In reality, this could start us down the pathway that could be just one thing away from peak energy.
