When Goliath shouted out to the Israelites, he was asking for what is known as single combat. The giant had this elaborate tunic made up of hundreds of overlapping bronze,. It covered his arms, it reached down to his knees and probably weighed more than 100 pounds. He wore a massive heavy metal helmet and he had three different weapons all for close combat. And again, pretty intimidating there.
