The History of Afghanistan

The political history of Afghanistan from 1826 to 1973. Amanul-Ahaman was forced to abdicate the throne after a civil war and terrible end-fighting raged across Afghanistan. Eventually his cousin, Nadir Khan, became ruler of Afghanistan, but Nadir Khan didn't last very long either. He was assassinated in 1933 and he was succeeded by his son, Mohammad Zahir Shah. His son ruled for 40 years until he was overthrown in 1973. Dawoud Khan then went on to serve as Afghanistan's prime minister for 10 years, from 1953 to 1963. As PM of Afghanistan, Dawoud Khan began to promote Pashtun nationalism. We're going to talk more about
