The Inevitability of Revolutions in Class Society
In class society oftentimes class struggle is really non antagonistic and as much as it hasn't broken out into open violence. Under liberalism there is an attempt to mediate the enmity between the proletariat and the bourgeoisie. But then crisis occurs then change occurs and suddenly you have revolution. When revolution occurs what you are seeing is the contradiction expressed through crutlass struggle becoming antagonistic. It becomes violent, rupturous and it changes into something else entirely. In this antagonistic form we see society move forward as identity functions and one is transformed into the other by these open forms of contradictions. Mao cautions against applying this formula dogmatically or mechanistically as he always will and stresses this need
