The Golden Age of Democracy
The Golden Age of democracy isn't like that. It's, it's different. Athens was the most radical democracy by far. They went more extreme than anyone else. But from a modern point of view, we have to put some qualifications in that it wasn't everyone. Slaves weren't citizens,. women weren't citizens, foreigners weren't citizens. The only people who were eligible for citizenship were native-born men.
