The way cells grow establishes the structure that we see, says Dr Buzzbaum. A lot of the stuff he and his colleagues do is actually related to how cells work when it comes to diseases like cancer. So in my lab we're really studying cell growth and division because that's what goes wrong in cancer. And I think actually it is very important, without knowing what goes wrong you can't really understand this disease.
