I think that people are focusing so much on perception and sort of these individual internal functions of language, when really what's so important is the coordinating functions around language. So coming back to your question about blue, I don't think it's that if you have a group of people who only see blue, then that's going to affect their lexicon. That's kind of the opposite direction. I'm not sure. You would predict that there'd be a different kind of matrix of accountability around things like how tolerant people are if you're getting the wrong shade of paint at the paint store.
