The last great republican assault of the war was a disaster. 30 thousand republican fighters died to just 65 hundred fachist casualties. Somewhere around 50,000 civilians were killed in the republican zone over the course of the war. But republic war crimes bore little resemblance to the crimes of the facists who murdered mor than a hundred and 30 thousand civilians.
