How Do I Get Into Cybersecurity?

The one skill that neither I or any other cybersecurity leader can teach is intellectual curiosity. Cybersecurity professionals are driven by threat actors who determine when they want to change techniques. We have to constantly retool ourselves to understand different tactics and the control design implications of those tactics. So intellectual curiosity has to be foundational. This is hard, tedious warfare in some cases. And we can't change that. so intellectual curiosity, full stop, is the most important criteria. As someone interviewing, you don't have to show that you understand in depth cybersecurity practices, you have to shows that you have the ability to learn. That starts with asking a million questions.
