History on Fire

CHAPTER

Martin's Return to Marymount

Martin returned to North America in 1629 for a non-core performance. The Puritans from the Massachusetts Bay Company didn't like Martin any more than those from Plymouth did, so they wasted no time going after him. They put Martin on trial for crimes with next to no evidence and little clarity on what the charges even were. So, again, based on Dubious charges, they exiled him to England in 1631. After two consecutive exiles, Martin was determined to make the lives of those who saw fit to kick him out as miserable as possible.
