I think there's an interesting nuance in what you just said, though. You can acknowledge that your parents were very loving and you got a lot of benefit for them. And you can also acknowledge ways in which their parenting style, the wounds that they carry, the issues that they had still impact on our lives. Trying to find both the good and the bad in it, I think can be really positive instead of just only focusing on one of them.
