When she first got the gavel back in 2019, the Mueller report was not out yet. She resisted and resisted and resisted until the Ukraine scandal broke. And to this day, there are a fair number of Democrats who believe that impeachment might have been more successful if she had given it a little bit more breathing room. But one sort of hallmark of her career is that in a lot of cases she has been more cynical about the Republican party than a lot of her legislative partners on the Democratic side of aisle.
