The Hardening of Pharaoh's Heart
Canaanite kings were assembling against the Israelites rather than aligning themselves with God. There is indeed an intentional parallel here between Pharaoh's self-heartened heart and God's sovereignty over this superpower, says author of Joshua 11. If they're hardening their own hearts then God says okay I'll work with your hardening and I'll just remove my gracious influences so you'll fight and that my people will be victorious.
