When I was at Shopify, we tried to create dedicated platform teams. We eventually realized that there is a place for these centralized teams,. We could actually call them the enablement teams so that right off the bat, people knew what their purpose was. The product managers are incredibly valuable in our product teams. And we found that they were also very, very valuable for these enable Teams.
Mike Fisher, the former CTO at Etsy, spearheaded a multi-year developer experience initiative aimed at improving developer happiness and efficiency during his time at Etsy.
