The Fed's Shrinkage of the Deposit Base
We just came through a period where zero interest rates was the rocket fuel for shadow banking. Now we're going to dial that back somewhat, too, which will be an effect for slower growth. There's a confluence of a lot of different factors here and teasing out all of the different interconnected pieces can be tough. I think it's navigable, but if we put a crisis around it, it just makes it trickier.
