Shinead's Voice Cut Through the Noise
Catherine Ferguson: Shinead had the most exceptional voice that seemed to cut through all of the noise. It was almost like a keening like an Irish grief keening and it cut through, especially in the MTV generation. The effect is shocking and quite devastating to witness just the hatred and vitriol it seemed to cause. She wanted to make incredible music and had eight critically acclaimed albums after that event.
