The text of the autobiography was not discovered until 1934. People knew that this book existed because a guy named De Word had published excerpts from it in an eight-page pamphlet. In 1934, people would just pick it up on a library shelf and read it. They thought that it was going to be a book about somebody who was a recluse or something like that.
