The combination of illegality and white supremacy and patriarchy does as it creates isolation. The thing that kills is when we are driven into isolation, when we are taken from our community. It's not how abortion was ever practised under any other communal system in our histories. We have to unpack our own training that tells us that the only way to be safe is to be alone and hidden and away from them.
