The Dark Side of Social Media

This chapter discusses the presence of graphic and harmful content on social media platforms, as well as the existence of online communities that encourage self-harm. It questions whether these images and communities are manifestations of a divine force, a dark archetype, or simply the cruelty of anonymous individuals. The chapter also explores the lack of mental health moderation on social media platforms and the efforts of the parents of a young girl who was affected by such content.
