Mobilizing for Housing Justice

This chapter explores community mobilization efforts after a pivotal council meeting in May 2021, focusing on increased voter participation among elderly Vietnamese residents. It highlights the election victory of a supportive council member and the ongoing struggles related to housing rights, particularly frustrations over unfulfilled promises and the stalled negotiations for Hillside Villa. Through grassroots activism and protest strategies, the chapter illustrates the emotional toll and systemic challenges faced by tenants in their fight against eviction and inadequate city responses.
