The Crucifixion of Jesus
To believe in the crucified one is to want no other victims to depend on the blood of Jesus. It is to swear off scapegoats. You might as well be asking somebody to give up meth addiction, he says. Isn't this the only way then to be able to make any sense of forgiving enemies? Yes. To see them as people whom Jesus died for. Not escape goats.
