Self-criticism is associated with higher levels of symptomology in all the major mental health problems. There are different forms that self-criticism can take and different functions. We don't try to get rid of self-critic in people because often it's serving helpful functions. Can you learn to relate to yourself in a more compassionate self-correcting way?
