So many homes in america are not bought and remodelled by the people who intend to live in them. You become beholden to what is inexpensive and will reap max rewards on the market when it's rented or resold. So you get these sort of cheap signifiers of newness that people sort of plug and play into, into an enormous portion of the homes in America. And because they're cheap, they might not work for us if we were to live there for a long period of time,. Like barn doors are quite problematic for sound proofing, right?
