Is the New Testament Invitation to the Church Culture Warring?
In Revelation 19, the most graphic image of Jesus coming in a white horse with a sword in his mouth, his robe, even before the battle is already bloodied. And we've been trained all throughout the book to see that any blood associated with Jesus is always his own and not the not the blood of his enemy. Even there, Jesus conquers by the sacrifice of himself and the manifestation of the truth that he is King of Kings and Lord of Lords. So it's possible to be politically engaged in a way that is cruciform in Christlike as if the gospel could be under threat. But absolutely, we're to provide a counter narrative and a counter community. That's it.
